How we see children
Children are active, creative people. We take their feelings, ideas, fears, wishes and questions seriously, talk them through and offer ways to work through them.
Concept
We follow the situational approach and the Vienna Education Plan. Every child is supported in their individuality and creativity – with respect, warmth and without authoritarian rules.
Children are active, creative people. We take their feelings, ideas, fears, wishes and questions seriously, talk them through and offer ways to work through them.
We speak with the children in both languages. Songs, rhymes, finger games and books build vocabulary in Spanish and German. Two years before school we start observing language development closely.
In play, children discover what they can do. We hold back, observe carefully and keep re-arranging rooms and materials around what we see.
We guide everyday conflicts openly and look for solutions that are fair to both sides – the basis for a strong, balanced self-confidence.
Every day we head to nearby Rubenspark. Add dance, music, weekly yoga and monthly trips to museums, theatre or the zoo.
Our cook prepares fresh meals four days a week; on the fifth, parents cook. Wholesome, organic food, plus a weekly organic fruit and veg box.
We follow the Berlin settling-in model: step by step, together with a familiar parent or carer.
In the last year before school there is a pre-school programme every Wednesday with stories, experiments, pre-writing exercises and movement games.
Quijote has no religious affiliation. We celebrate St Martin, St Nicholas or Easter as traditions – with respect for every family.
Clear rituals give children security – every transition is announced in advance.
Plus regular parents' meetings, team days and closures around Christmas and Easter. Families receive the current calendar directly.
Write to us – we're happy to invite you for a visit to the group.
