What ages is Quijote for?
Children from 18 months to 6 years, in one mixed-age group of up to 14 children.
When is the daycare open?
Monday to Friday, 8:00 to 16:00. We close around Christmas and Easter; families receive the exact calendar directly.
Does my child need to speak Spanish?
No. Most children come from bilingual families, but Spanish isn't a requirement. Children pick it up through play – and German gets focused support.
What does "parent-run" mean?
Quijote is a parents' association: parents make decisions together, cook once a week and help with celebrations and outings.
What do the children eat?
Children bring a morning snack from home (no sweets). Lunch and afternoon snack are provided – freshly cooked, wholesome and organic.
How does settling in work?
We use the Berlin model: your child gets to know the group with a familiar parent or carer, and time apart grows step by step.
Where do the children play outside?
We don't have our own garden, but we go to Rubenspark, just a few minutes' walk away, every day – plus trips to the Prater or Wienerberg.
Do you prepare children for school?
Yes. In the compulsory kindergarten year there is a pre-school programme every Wednesday from 13:00 to 14:00, with extra activities during the week.
How much does a place cost?
Depending on the model (2 to 5 days a week), parents pay a monthly parent fee of €141 to €248 plus €44 to €92 for meals. You'll find all fees under "Admission".
